Synopsis

Will Smith performs "Wild Wild West" in a stylized version of the film's futuristic frontier, combining concert footage with scenes from the 1999 movie. The video places Smith alongside Dru Hill and Kool Moe Dee amid Western streets, saloons, dancers, and the film's steampunk-inspired machinery. Salma Hayek also appears, linking the visual directly to the movie's cast and story. The result is a glossy soundtrack video built around spectacle, choreography, and the film's comic-book interpretation of the Old West.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was released to promote the 1999 film *Wild Wild West*, in which Will Smith played James West.

• Its imagery mirrors the movie's blend of Western conventions and futuristic technology, including the giant mechanical spider that became one of the film's most recognizable visual elements.

• Dru Hill and Kool Moe Dee appear as guest performers, giving the video a collaborative hip-hop and R&B presentation rather than treating the song as a solo Smith performance.

• Kool Moe Dee's involvement connects the track to his earlier 1987 rap song "Wild Wild West." Smith's version reworks that title and central concept for the film soundtrack.

• Salma Hayek appears in the video in connection with her role as Rita Escobar in the film.

• The song became one of Smith's biggest commercial hits and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
