Factoids & Trivia

• The video was made for "Technova (La em Copacabana)," the Towa Tei track featuring Brazilian vocalist Bebel Gilberto from his 1994 debut album, "Future Listening!"

• Much of the video's visual identity comes from early computer graphics. Ichiro Tanida was responsible for the CG work, making "Technova" an example of the experimental Japanese digital-video aesthetic of the mid-1990s.

• Towa Tei appears in both live-action and computer-generated form, while the animated dog became one of the video's most memorable visual details.

• "Technova" began as a demo intended for Deee-Lite, but the track's jazz, bossa nova, and easy-listening direction did not fit the group's musical path. Tei later developed it for his solo debut.
