Synopsis

Tori Amos is led through a burning building by a small girl while groups of spectators watch from outside. The child appears to guide her toward safety as the fire consumes the structure, giving the video a stark, dreamlike atmosphere. Amos emerges from the flames, but the imagery remains emotionally ambiguous: the burning building can be read as a relationship, addiction, or another painful situation from which escape is difficult. The video's surreal narrative matches the song's melancholy and sense of emotional isolation.

• The video uses the radio edit of "Hey Jupiter (The Dakota Version)," rather than the original album recording or the longer Dakota arrangement.

• In the commentary for the 2006 video collection *Fade to Red*, Amos described the small girl as an angel guiding her toward "a different dimension" or another reality.

• Amos also connected the watching spectators with the experience of seeing someone trapped in an emotional fire, while being unable to intervene.
