Synopsis

A woman drives Christoph Schneider to an isolated building, where he joins the other members of Rammstein in a tense confrontation. Wearing masks and surrounded by broken glass, weapons, and flickering fire, the group appears to prepare for a violent act. Schneider is bound and beaten before the situation culminates in a blazing explosion. The video's stark, cinematic imagery turns the song's ambiguous marriage-vow lyrics into a story of betrayal, rage, and revenge.

• The video was filmed in Hamburg, Germany, in March 1997 and runs for approximately four minutes and 24 seconds.

• Its crime-film atmosphere and masked figures have often been compared to Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs," particularly in its use of tension, betrayal, and stylized violence.

• The song's title contains a deliberate German-language pun. "Du hast" means "you have," while "du hasst" means "you hate." The similar pronunciation adds uncertainty to lyrics that also play with the language of wedding vows.
