Green Day perform "Basket Case" inside a dilapidated psychiatric hospital, where Billie Joe Armstrong wanders through surreal wards while Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool join the chaos. Patients in white clothing drift through the halls, some wearing distorted masks, as the band plays amid strange medical imagery and unsettling activity. Factoids & Trivia

• The video was filmed at the abandoned Agnews Developmental Center in Santa Clara County, California. The location was a real former psychiatric institution, and much of its rundown interior was still intact.

• During the shoot, the band reportedly encountered old patient files, deep scratches in the walls, and dental molds left behind in the building.

• The footage was shot in black and white before color was added during post-production. The resulting oversaturated palette gives the video its distinctive dreamlike appearance.

• The imagery draws on the visual language of *One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest* and Terry Gilliam's *Brazil*, combining institutional settings with absurdist, unsettling details.
