Synopsis

Snot's "Stoopid" is a raw, performance-driven video built around the band's confrontational energy. Lynn Strait delivers the song with his characteristic intensity while the group tears through the track in a grimy, chaotic setting. Fast cuts, close-ups, and restless camera movement emphasize the music's abrasive punk-metal attack rather than present a conventional storyline. Strait's boxer, Dobbs, also appears, adding a personal touch to an otherwise aggressive snapshot of Snot at the height of its early fame.

Factoids & Trivia

  • The video was released in 1997 in support of Snot's debut album, *Get Some*, which came out through Geffen Records.
  • "Stoopid" is credited to Lynn Strait, Mike Doling, Jamie Miller, and John Fahnestock.
  • Dobbs, Lynn Strait's boxer, was closely associated with Snot. He appeared on the *Get Some* album cover and in the "Stoopid" video.
  • Strait and Dobbs were both killed in a six-car accident in California on December 11, 1998. The tragedy gave Dobbs' appearance in the video an especially poignant afterlife.
  • The song was later included in the soundtrack for the 1998 PlayStation game *Apocalypse*, alongside tracks by artists including System of a Down and Poe.
  • "Stoopid" remains one of the clearest surviving visual documents of Snot's original lineup, whose career ended after only one studio album.
