Synopsis

Ice Cube wakes to an unusually peaceful Los Angeles morning and spends the day enjoying small victories: breakfast with his family, a drive in his green Impala, a street basketball game, and time with friends watching television and playing games. He picks up an old school crush, Kim, and the two relax together before he stops at Fatburger. The easygoing day ends with police cars and a helicopter surrounding his home. Cube walks inside anyway, as a "To Be Continued..." title points toward "Check Yo Self."

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was first released in March 1993, shortly after the song's February 23, 1993 single release.

• Several scenes were filmed in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles, including the driving sequences.

• Ice Cube's car is a green 1964 Chevrolet Impala, a fitting lowrider-era centerpiece for the video's West Coast setting.

• The closing police operation gives the video a direct narrative link to "Check Yo Self," the next single associated with *The Predator* era.

• WC, Jerome "Shorty" Muhammad, J-Dee, Ron Riser, and Robin Power appear alongside Ice Cube.

• The video's relaxed, observational approach mirrors the song's central contrast: an ordinary day feels exceptional because it unfolds without the violence and police pressure that usually define Cube's world.
