Synopsis

Dua Lipa performs in a vivid, constantly shifting world of colored warehouse sets, animated graphics, and tightly choreographed dance. Joined by a troupe of dancers, she moves through glowing stages, revolving platforms, geometric formations, and surreal visual transitions that build toward a frenetic final sequence. The video combines live action with anime-inspired animation, turning the song's charged physicality into a bold, colorful spectacle. Its playful use of color, movement, and symmetry gives the performance the feel of a hyper-stylized pop art fantasy.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was filmed at Fira de Barcelona in Barcelona over three 16-hour shooting days in December 2019. The production reportedly used a budget of approximately EUR 500,000, around 80 crew members, and more than 150 dancers.

• Its visual concept was inspired by a Venn diagram from Peter Fischli and David Weiss' 1981 series "Order and Cleanliness." The fish and kangaroo references visible on dancers' clothing come from that source of inspiration.

• Choreographer Charm La'Donna created the movement-heavy routines, which combine contemporary and classical dance with the video's highly graphic staging.

• Dua Lipa used stunt double Ariadna Martin for some of the more demanding physical work, including balancing on a revolving stage. Martin reportedly dyed her hair because a suitable wig was not available.

• The colorful pants worn in the video were produced by Pepe Jeans London for the SS20 Dua for Pepe collection.

• A director's cut was released on February 21, 2020, adding further footage to the original music video.

• The video won Best Visual Effects at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards and also received nominations for Best Art Direction and Best Choreography.
