Synopsis

The Black Eyed Peas are separated across a surreal, cosmic landscape. Fergie performs in a lush jungle, apl.de.ap wanders across a barren desert world, will.i.am rides an elephant on a distant moon, and Taboo floats through space in an astronaut suit. As each member searches for the others, gateways eventually open between their worlds. They pass through the portals as shooting stars before arriving together on a shared planet, symbolically meeting halfway.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video premiered in the United States on October 12, 2009, and became available through the iTunes Music Store the following day.

• The group described the clip as a deliberate change of direction from the futuristic look of "Boom Boom Pow" and the party atmosphere of "I Gotta Feeling." The intention was to create something more artistic and visually driven.

• Its imagery places each band member in a different part of an imagined solar system, giving the song's plea for connection a literal visual structure.

• The portal sequence turns the members into shooting stars before bringing them together. It is the video's clearest visual link to the title and to the idea of overcoming distance.

• "Meet Me Halfway" was released as the third single from the 2009 album "The E.N.D." and became one of the group's major international pop hits.

• Despite sharing its title with Kenny Loggins' 1987 song, the Black Eyed Peas track and video are unrelated.
