Synopsis

The Automatic set out as a band of amateur monster hunters, dressed in hiking gear and fake beards and traveling through the woods in a camouflage-covered ambulance. Their search turns up more than they realize: Nessie and Bigfoot appear along the way, but the hunters remain oblivious. After returning to their vehicle, they find themselves surrounded by monsters. A UFO suddenly arrives and destroys the creatures, then turns its attention to the band as they emerge from the ambulance.

• Hadleigh Lomasney appears as Bigfoot.

• The hunters' ambulance is covered in camouflage and decorated with newspaper clippings about monsters, UFOs and the Loch Ness Monster.

• Guitarist James Frost performs his solo while standing on top of the ambulance.

• The video uses a deliberately comic, low-budget monster-hunting setup rather than presenting the song's title creature as a genuinely frightening figure.

• Nessie and Bigfoot are both seen by the audience before the band notices anything unusual, creating the clip's central visual joke.
