Synopsis

The "Justboy" video centers on Biffy Clyro performing the song, presenting the young Scottish trio in a direct, performance-led setting. Simon Neil appears in a wheelchair, an unusual detail caused by a broken foot after he jumped from a PA stack. The visual focus stays on the band's raw energy and the song's dramatic shifts, reflecting the unpolished intensity of their early period rather than building a separate narrative around the lyrics.

Factoids & Trivia

• "Justboy" was released on October 1, 2001, as the second single from Biffy Clyro's debut album, "Blackened Sky."

• The song had already appeared on the band's first EP, "Thekidswhopoptodaywillrocktomorrow." It was re-recorded for the later single and album releases.

• Simon Neil has described "Justboy" as his first genuinely good song. He wrote much of the material that became "Blackened Sky" when he was around 16 or 17.

• Neil's wheelchair appearance was not a styling choice: he had broken his foot after jumping off a PA stack.

• The single reached No. 46 on the UK's Independent Singles Chart in October 2001.

• The track became an enduring favorite among longtime fans and has continued to appear in Biffy Clyro's live sets, where its large chorus regularly prompts crowd singalongs.
