Synopsis

The video follows Josh Homme, Nick Oliveri and Mark Lanegan as they drive through a remote desert landscape and accidentally hit a deer. What first appears to be a fatal collision quickly becomes a surreal nightmare: the animal revives, attacks the musicians, steals their vehicle and takes them on a strange nocturnal journey. Intercut with the narrative are stark performance scenes, giving the clip a tense, darkly comic atmosphere that matches the song's heavy groove and unpredictable energy.

• The video was filmed in two separate production periods in 2002. The first section was shot on June 26 and 27, while additional filming was completed on July 15.

• Josh Homme said the band wanted Michel Gondry involved because of his work with Bjork, whose videos the group greatly admired.
