Synopsis

Faithless present "Muhammad Ali" as a performance-led tribute to the boxing icon and Maxi Jazz's childhood hero. The video places Maxi at the center while using boxing imagery and a stylized visual treatment to echo Ali's speed, confidence, charisma and influence. Rather than recounting Ali's career in documentary form, it reflects the song's personal point of view: a young fan finds courage, pride and self-belief by watching an extraordinary champion.

• "Muhammad Ali" was released in the United Kingdom on September 23, 2001, as the second single from Faithless' third album, *Outrospective*. It reached number 29 on the UK Singles Chart.

• The song is unusually personal for Faithless. Maxi Jazz describes seeing Ali on a grainy black-and-white television as a child and credits him with helping him develop confidence while facing racial taunts.

• The single's German DualDisc edition included the main video, a live video, a video for the "Tuff Love Mix," a behind-the-scenes feature about *Outrospective*, and the video for "We Come 1."
