Synopsis

Jason Pierce stands motionless at the center of a large orchestra as the musicians perform "Stop Your Crying." The restrained opening gradually gives way to chaos: as the song reaches its climax, the players turn on their surroundings, knocking over music stands, scattering sheet music and smashing their instruments. The contrast between Pierce's stillness and the orchestra's sudden frenzy creates the video's central visual joke, transforming a formal classical setting into an exuberant act of destruction.

• The video features the approximately 100-piece orchestra that performed on Spiritualized's album *Let It Come Down*.

• The destruction was not limited entirely to props. Members of the orchestra reportedly began breaking real instruments and equipment, surprising the production team.

• Three musicians had to be discreetly removed from the set after becoming especially enthusiastic about the destruction.

• The video's climactic instrument-smashing reverses a familiar rock-video image: instead of the frontman wrecking a guitar, the orchestra takes over the destructive role while Pierce remains completely still.
