Synopsis

A mock emergency broadcast announces that a catastrophic global virus has wiped out the entire male population, leaving only two male models from Colorado alive. Sean Foreman and Nathaniel Motte then pose through a series of increasingly absurd photo shoots, appearing in underwear, neon wrestling singlets, and caveman costumes. The deliberately chaotic images parody fashion, macho posturing, and overproduced music-video spectacle. After the prehistoric-themed finale, a mushroom cloud appears, ending the transmission with a tongue-in-cheek apology.

Factoids & Trivia

  • Nathaniel Motte later recalled that the shoot lasted roughly 16 to 18 hours and described the process as chaotic, strange, and driven more by raw energy than by a tightly defined concept.
  • The opening premise presents the duo as the last surviving men, while the video itself treats them like ridiculous fashion models rather than heroic survivors. That contrast sets up the video's deliberately absurd tone.
  • The visual switches between several styled sets, including an underwear photo shoot, a wrestling-themed setup, and a prehistoric scene. Each setting functions like a new costume fantasy instead of advancing a conventional narrative.
  • The video debuted in October 2008, during the period when "Don't Trust Me" was turning 3OH!3 from a Colorado party duo into a national pop act.
  • "Don't Trust Me" received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, giving the video's eccentric presentation visibility beyond the band's original MySpace and Warped Tour audience.
  • Motte later said the duo had not expected the song to reach such a large audience. He also acknowledged that some of its intentionally offensive humor would likely have received more scrutiny had they known how successful the track would become.
