Synopsis

Midnight Juggernauts perform inside a stark, sculptural environment that seems to shift and multiply around them. Using split-scan imagery, the video fractures the musicians, instruments, lights, and geometric forms into constantly rearranging patterns. The performers appear to merge with the set as the structure takes on an animated, almost mechanical life of its own. The result is a hypnotic visual counterpart to "Vital Signs," balancing live performance footage with warped, kaleidoscopic effects and an intentionally constructed art-installation feel.

Factoids & Trivia

• The original video plan fell through only three weeks before filming, forcing the band to develop a replacement concept quickly.

• Midnight Juggernauts proposed using split-scan, an image-manipulation technique that records different portions of a scene at slightly different moments. The resulting distortions give the video its signature fragmented motion.

• The band wanted the video and the artwork for *The Crystal Axis* to share one visual language. They built a set containing instruments, synthesizers, percussion, and other elements associated with the album's creation.
