Synopsis

A small, otherworldly figure drifts through a dark, organic landscape shaped by water, shadows, and shifting patterns. Its journey moves between distant, observer-like views and subjective passages, creating the impression of an enclosed world gradually opening outward. The creature's jellyfish-like body and winged form suggest a strange hybrid life-form, while recurring visual structures mirror the song's repeating A-B-C composition. The result is less a literal narrative than a surreal cycle of emergence, movement, and return, balancing beauty with an understated sense of unease.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was created for the title track of cokiyu's second album, released in September 2011.

• The visual concept grew from ideas of prenatal memory and reincarnation. The filmmaker noted that these ideas closely matched cokiyu's own feelings about the song and reactions from her friends.

• The central character began as a more translucent, sea-creature-like concept before becoming a combination of jellyfish anatomy and angel wings.

• Rather than using hand-drawn animation, the production relied heavily on animated paths, masks, short-duration distortion effects, and compositing.

• Aside from the opening title font, the video was made without imported Illustrator, Photoshop, or third-party visual materials. Even particle-like elements were built and animated specifically for the piece.

• The production represented a new direction for the filmmaker, who had not previously made a music video approaching five minutes in length.
