Synopsis

Mount Kimbie's "Home Recording" turns a series of domestic portraits into a shifting audiovisual collage. Fans appear inside their own homes while fragments of the outside world - including urban spaces and rural landscapes - seem to bleed through the rooms around them. Repeated camera movements and layered exposures make people, architecture and scenery occupy the same fleeting space. The result is an intimate but disorienting meditation on isolation, confinement and the desire to connect with something beyond the four walls of home.

• The video was built around motion portraits of Mount Kimbie fans, with the band's Facebook page used to select participants and their homes.

• The central technique merges interiors, people and exterior locations through repeated shots and multiple exposures. The same camera movement was replicated in different places, allowing separate environments to appear as though they were occupying one another.

• The concept deliberately connects with the song's title without showing a conventional home-studio recording session. Its visual language instead reflects the inward, private feeling often associated with bedroom recordings.
