Synopsis

A masked young man and his companions carry out a tense nighttime break-in, but the crime soon takes an unexpected turn. Their target is a troubled blonde woman whose despair has brought her to the edge of suicide. As the intruders discover her, the attempted robbery becomes an improvised rescue, with the group's threatening disguise contrasting sharply with the vulnerability inside the house. The video's grim, ambiguous short-film style reflects the song's themes of belonging, rejection, peer pressure, and the fragile connections that can emerge between strangers.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was originally made for Breton's appearance at the British Short Film Festival at the BFI in January 2013, before being released as the official video for "Got Well Soon."

• Breton vocalist Roman Rappak said the group's videos often began with a real event or something they had heard. For this clip, the band specifically wanted to connect the visual story to the song's lyrics.

• The song's central idea concerns inclusivity and its darker opposite: the pressure to fit into a group or face rejection. The video turns that idea into a literal encounter between outsiders and an isolated young woman.

• "Got Well Soon" was recorded in Berlin at Funkhaus, a former East German broadcasting complex. The location had once been used to produce radio programs and propaganda for the Eastern Bloc.

• The song later appeared in episode 4 of the 2015 episodic game "Life Is Strange," where it plays at the Vortex Club party.
