Synopsis

Smoke Fairies are confined to a cramped hotel room, where the duo turns isolation into a playful, restless performance. They throw objects around, disappear beneath the bedclothes and hide inside suitcases, shifting between mischievous physical comedy and close-up shots of their guitar playing. The deliberately enclosed setting gives the video a scrappy, claustrophobic charm, while the band's cool, self-possessed presence keeps the surreal antics from becoming pure slapstick. The result is an intimate performance piece with a distinctly homemade feel.
