Synopsis

Two young women return to a London loft after a night out, carrying the charged energy of the party with them. Over the course of a compressed 24 hours, their relationship moves through flirtation, intimacy, exhilaration, jealousy, aggression and heartbreak. The video shifts between playful fashion imagery, passionate encounters and emotionally raw confrontations, gradually revealing the destructive side of their bond. Beneath its provocative surface, the film presents a relationship that feels unstable, impulsive and deeply human.

• The video was filmed in a London loft over a 24-hour period, with the production built around creating situations for the performers rather than following a conventional scripted shoot.

• Much of the footage came from extended, single-take scenarios. The performers were encouraged to respond naturally, allowing the camera to capture emotional escalation and unexpected moments.

• The production team used both a RED camera and a Canon 7D.

• Editor Nick Lofting spent approximately one week shaping the material in Final Cut Pro. The edit was developed collaboratively in Los Angeles, with the footage assembled according to emotional rhythm rather than a traditional beginning-middle-end structure.

• The two central performers were Hannah May and Andrea Chovanova.

• The creative concept was inspired by the idea of honesty in the song's lyrics. The production team deliberately looked beyond the video's provocative imagery and fashion styling to explore the intimacy and damage within a destructive relationship.

• The video was made for "The Runner," a track from The Boxer Rebellion's 2011 album "The Cold Still." The song is among the album's most forceful rock performances.

• The finished video was shown to the band backstage at the Roxy in Los Angeles while the group was in town for a live performance. They reportedly responded positively to the completed film.
