Synopsis

A young boy moves through a surreal, unsettled world where rebels and police occupy the same hostile landscape. Around him, strange figures appear in theatrical costumes, body paint, masks and improvised disguises, creating the impression of a society caught between protest and control. The video shifts between confrontational street imagery and dreamlike tableaux, with physical movement, props and unusual characters responding to Noisia's abrasive electronic track. Rather than following a conventional narrative, it presents the boy as an observer navigating a fragmented adult world.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was made as a live-action production, with credits listing extensive costume design, makeup, body painting, props, stunt work and animal handling.

• Its cast includes separate groups identified as rebels and police, as well as characters built around visual motifs such as chains, sand, balloons, scarves, painted faces and black tears.

• The production used a Weisscam high-speed camera system, suggesting that some of the video's striking movement and impact shots were captured with specialized digital cinematography.

• The project was produced by NFI Producties and Trent, with support from the Dutch Tax Videoclipfonds.

• "Tommy's Theme" appeared on the special edition of Noisia's debut album, "Split the Atom," released in 2012.

• The video was created by filmmaker and visual artist Sil van der Woerd, who also handled the concept, editing and compositing.
