Synopsis

"Got Paid" captures the rush and disorder of a night out in London. Katy B, Wiley and Zinc's track provides the soundtrack as the video moves through the city's after-dark streets, nightlife, and fleeting encounters. Rather than following a conventional narrative, the clip assembles a fast-moving stream of images that feels spontaneous, crowded, and slightly disorienting. The stop-motion treatment gives the evening a drunken, staccato energy, matching the track's hard-edged electronic groove and its celebration of London after dark.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was made from more than 2,000 still photographs, creating its distinctive stop-motion appearance.

• More than 10,000 stills were reportedly taken during production. The final selection had to be organized and edited under a tight deadline.

• The photographs were shot on both 35mm and 120mm film, giving the footage a tactile, grainy quality rather than the polished look of a conventional digital club video.

• The production approach was intended to capture London nightlife in a raw and realistic way. The city itself functions as the video's main visual setting.

• Brian Fawcett worked as director of photography and also contributed still photography, alongside Emile Rafael.

• The edit was handled by Chris Roebuck at Speade, while color work was completed at Framestore.

• "Got Paid" appeared on Katy B's free 2012 EP "Danger," alongside collaborations with Jessie Ware, Diplo, Iggy Azalea, and Jacques Greene.
