Synopsis

A dreamlike collage of mosaic-covered interiors, intimate portraits, street scenes, and fleeting details unfolds in time with Efterklang's measured, orchestral pulse. Rather than following a conventional narrative, the video observes an eccentric artistic world through fragments: hands at work, faces caught in thought, colorful surfaces, and spaces filled with personal history. The imagery gradually shifts between tenderness and unease, creating the impression of a family portrait assembled from memories, discarded moments, and half-remembered visions.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video consists entirely of deleted scenes and alternate takes from the documentary film "In a Dream," giving it the feeling of an outtake reel transformed into a standalone visual work.

• "In a Dream" focuses on Philadelphia mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar and his family. The video consequently draws much of its visual identity from Zagar's densely decorated environments and the documentary's intimate family material.

• Efterklang's music was used in "In a Dream." The music video was created as a thank-you to the band for allowing the film to use their work.

• "Cutting Ice To Snow" appears on Efterklang's second album, "Parades," released on October 15, 2007.

• The track was paired with "Mirador" on a 2007 promo-only single. The music video followed in October 2008, when it was offered through the band's website alongside other releases and downloads.
