Synopsis

A woman and a man move through a nocturnal, dreamlike encounter that seems to reset and replay itself. Each variation follows a different possibility, shifting the balance between attraction, danger and regret. What initially appears to be a chance meeting gradually reveals a darker outcome, as the lovers' paths converge around a car and a sudden act of violence. The video uses repetition and alternate versions of the same events to suggest that some desired future is always just out of reach - the day that never came.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was released online on February 20, 2012, ahead of the four-track EP of the same name, which the official announcement scheduled for March 5, 2012.

• It was made as a compact narrative film rather than a conventional performance video. The visual storytelling carries the song without showing Cinnamon Chasers' Russ Davies performing.

• Alexandra Viveiros and Miguel Faro are the two credited actors. Susana Oliveira handled makeup.

• Joao Seica served as director of photography and editor as well as directing and producing the video, giving the project a strongly self-contained, short-film quality.

• The production credits acknowledge Victor Goncalves, Patricia Carreira, Susana Oliveira, Sofia Carneiro, Balalaika, Cristiana Couceiro and Vanda Lima.

• The film was later presented in Portuguese short-film programs, including the videoclip competition at the 2013 Leiria Film Fest. It was also screened at Shortcutz Xpress Viseu in March 2014.

• The song appeared in several remix forms after the EP, including versions by Russ Davies, Seipa, Mr Maen and Synthetic Jacques.
