Synopsis

A young man feeds photographs into an incinerator before fleeing the scene. His escape takes him through stark, fire-lit surroundings, where he encounters a woman who joins him on the run. As the pair move together, the video shifts between narrative action and the band's performance, building an impression of shared history, rupture, and release. The imagery gives the song's themes of memory and relationships a physical form, with burning photographs suggesting an attempt to leave the past behind.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was released in 2012 to accompany "White Doves," a track from Young Empires' EP *Wake All My Youth*.

• Its interactive version was designed as a Facebook Connect experience. Viewers could enter the name of a friend, allowing mutually tagged photographs of the two people to be incorporated into the video.

• The concept was developed around the song's connection to memory and personal relationships. Bassist Jacob Palahnuk said the idea had been discussed roughly a year and a half before release, and that completing the project took almost a year.
