Synopsis

A man becomes absorbed in a strange, one-sided romance that gradually takes on the quality of a ritual. Set against a stark, minimalist backdrop, the video places intimacy beside unease, turning gestures of affection into signs of control, fixation and emotional disconnection. The members of Rebeka appear within the stylized world, while Maria Cieslak and Piotr Stramowski carry the central relationship. Surreal imagery and artwork deepen the sense that the couple are trapped inside a dreamlike psychological space.

Factoids & Trivia

• "Unconscious" comes from Rebeka's debut album, "Hellada", released on May 17, 2013. The video appeared later that year, on December 10.

• The clip was the third video made to promote "Hellada". The song was widely regarded as one of the album's key tracks, alongside "Melancholia".

• Maria Cieslak and Piotr Stramowski play the central roles, while Rebeka's members Iwona Skwarek and Bartosz Szczesny also appear.

• The production used a Red Epic camera and was made by Warsaw-based Sputnik Studio in cooperation with Brennnessel Records.

• Artwork by Polish artist Aleksandra Waliszewska forms part of the video's stark visual environment.

• The video received the Best Direction award at the 2014 Yach Film Festival, as well as Best Music Video honors at Music Is and Outrave.

• It was also nominated for music-video prizes at the 2014 Berlin Music Video Awards, Short Waves Festival, Los Angeles Music Video Festival, Williamsburg International Film Festival and Paris Music Festival.
