Synopsis

Blaque arrive on a downtown Los Angeles street as mysterious, futuristic women with otherworldly powers. When a group of men discovers a strange box, it transports them into an abstract space where the trio performs and interacts with them. Each member is presented in a distinct color-coded environment, combining choreography, glamour, and science-fiction imagery. The video's fantasy setting turns the song's request for time, love, and attention into an imaginative journey rather than a conventional romance narrative.

Factoids & Trivia

  • The video uses a version of the song without JC Chasez's vocals. Brandi Williams and Shamari Fears sing the sections associated with Chasez, while the arrangement also includes extra ad-libs from Natina Reed.
  • The concept was built around an Afro-futurist, Y2K-era visual style, with Blaque portrayed as alien-like women possessing superpowers. Its distinctive fashion and color-coded sets have helped the video remain a popular example of late-1990s futuristic R&B imagery.
  • The guest vocal was originally intended for Usher. Justin Timberlake was later considered, but his filming commitments for the television movie "Model Behavior" made JC Chasez the eventual choice.
  • The song interpolates Shalamar's "I Don't Wanna Be the Last to Know," connecting Blaque's polished teen R&B sound to an earlier soul and funk recording.
  • The single became one of Blaque's biggest commercial successes, reaching No. 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Billboard later included it on its list of the 100 greatest girl-group songs.

Lyrics

[Natina (Shamari)]
Yo, whoo this is hot, uh-huh
See what I believe
(What ya believe Natina?)
Yeah, I believe that Bring It All To Me
Needs a remix, uh-huh yeah (whoo!) like this
Kick it Mari, uh

[Shamari]
I've been trying to figure you out for the longest time (uh-huh)
Everybody claims they don't know you're name (1-9 yeah)
You appear to be someone I've danced with before
And now I shall unmask to reveal your game (yeah, yeah, yeah)
