Synopsis

In the US version of "Another Night," O-Jay broadcasts from a hidden pirate radio station powered by four men operating hand-cycle generators. Around London, Patricia Petersen rides a moped, putting up posters for the station while listening to the broadcast on a boombox. She becomes fascinated by the voice and image of the unseen DJ. After the broadcast ends, O-Jay leaves the studio and passes Petersen on the street, creating a brief near-meeting between the two strangers.

Factoids & Trivia

• Two different music videos were made for "Another Night." The US version uses the pirate-radio storyline, while the European version features two robot-like characters communicating by videophone.

• The US video was filmed on location in London and presents Real McCoy as an underground broadcast operation rather than a conventional club act.

• Patricia Petersen appears on screen as the female performer, but Karin Kasar provided the original female vocals. Petersen lip-synced Kasar's parts in the video.

• The radio station's unusual power source is supplied by four men using hand-cycle-mounted generators, giving the video a deliberately improvised, low-tech visual identity.

• The video was already receiving exposure on the British music television channel The Box by November 1994. It later gained stronger rotation on MTV Europe and was listed by French music channel MCM.

• "Another Night" received two nominations in the Dance category at the 1995 Billboard Music Video Awards.

• The official video was later uploaded to Real McCoy's YouTube channel in 2009, introducing the clip to a new online audience decades after its original release.
