Synopsis
A man lies sprawled on a couch while Kix launch into their raunchy hard-rock number. As the performance develops, the setting shifts outdoors, where rain and a flirtatious woman turn the song's "cold shower" idea into a playful visual motif. Intercut with the band performing against a stylized purple backdrop, the video combines concert energy, exaggerated mid-1980s rock attitude, and a loose narrative built around heat, desire, and an unexpectedly literal downpour.
Factoids & Trivia
- The video was released in 1985 to promote "Cold Shower," a track from Kix's third album, *Midnite Dynamite*.
- "Cold Shower" followed the album's title track as a single and became one of Kix's stronger early rock-radio performances, reaching No. 23 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart.
- Kix guitarist Brian Forsythe later recalled that the video received some MTV exposure, although he felt it did not provide the band with a major breakthrough.
- The production uses a deliberately artificial visual style, with the band performing on a purple set while rain falls behind them. The contrast between the staged backdrop and the outdoor scenes reflects the colorful, theatrical presentation common in mid-1980s hard-rock videos.
- The video runs for approximately four minutes and was later included among Kix's official video material.
