• The video was filmed in Berlin and was produced in connection with the 1994 release of the "Mindmachine" maxi-single.

• The maxi-single included a special video edit of "Mindmachine" alongside "Song for a Mad Choir Singer," "Madiel," and a long version of the title track.

• The clip entered rotation on the German music channel VIVA and was also broadcast several times by MTV, including on the program "Chill Out."

• The video was later included on the 1996 VHS collection "First Decade," which gathered clips and live recordings from the band's first ten years.

• In 2005, the video became the subject of a copyright controversy when Vanilla Ninja used substantial sections of it for their "Cool Vibes" video without permission. The original images were altered by replacing the faces of the Deine Lakaien members with those of the girl group's singer.
