Synopsis

Bush perform "Swallowed" amid the restless chaos of a crowded, retro-styled apartment. The band members are surrounded by eccentric guests, intimate encounters, domestic disorder, and surreal interruptions, including a woman in labor and a recurring neon crucifix. Gavin Rossdale moves through the gathering with a detached, uneasy presence while the party's energy shifts between slow-motion tableaux and frantic bursts. The video closes on the band playing as the apartment's strange social world gradually fades away.

• The video was released in October 1996 to accompany "Swallowed," the lead single from Bush's second album, "Razorblade Suitcase."

• Filming took place at Twickenham Studios in England, with additional material shot in Florida.

• The production used footage filmed at different speeds so that people in the same shot could appear to move normally, quickly, or slowly at once. Robin Goodridge reportedly had to play drums at twice his usual speed while keeping his body relatively still.

• The neon crucifix seen throughout the video later appeared on the cover of Bush's 1997 remix album, "Deconstructed."

• A broken television in the apartment connects visually with "Broken TV," a B-side included with the "Swallowed" single.
