Synopsis

The B-52's turn a mysterious roadside destination into an exuberant backwoods party. Traveling down a dirt road in a bright convertible, the band arrives at a ramshackle house filled with dancers, colorful characters and barely contained excitement. Kate Pierson, Fred Schneider and Cindy Wilson perform amid the joyful chaos as the gathering grows increasingly theatrical. RuPaul appears among the partygoers, adding another burst of energy to the video. The result is a freewheeling celebration of music, dancing, eccentric fashion and communal escape.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was filmed at the home and studio of ceramic artists Phillip Maberry and Scott Walker in Highland, New York. The location's handmade, colorful surroundings gave the production a more distinctive look than a conventional studio set.

• RuPaul appears as one of the dancers. The appearance came before RuPaul became a widely known television personality and is often regarded as an important early mainstream exposure.

• Artist Tom Rubnitz is credited as the bartender in the video. Rubnitz was associated with New York's underground video and performance scene, making his presence especially fitting for the B-52's' deliberately eccentric party aesthetic.
