Synopsis

Set in a busy hotel, the video follows Coolio as a mischievous bellboy who moves from room to room while carrying out his duties. Along the way, he witnesses a series of seductive and comic encounters, including strip poker and other intimate scenes involving a parade of celebrity guests. Ice-T frames the story as an irritated hotel manager who repeatedly complains about the bellboy's work ethic. With Tupac absent from the footage, the clip turns the song's themes of desire and infidelity into a playful hotel farce.

Factoids & Trivia

• "Temptations" was released as the third single from 2Pac's album "Me Against the World" on August 29, 1995.

• Tupac was incarcerated when the video was made, so he does not appear in the main footage. Coolio serves as the video's central on-screen presence.

• The production assembled an unusually large group of hip-hop, R&B, and acting personalities, including Warren G, B-Real, Treach, Adina Howard, Jada Pinkett, Jasmine Guy, Salt, Spinderella, Yo-Yo, Isaac Hayes, and Ice-T.

• Coolio's bellboy character provides the connecting thread between the separate hotel-room episodes. Ice-T appears as the hotel manager, bookending the story with complaints about Coolio's behavior.

• The video was filmed at the Hotel Alexandria in Los Angeles.

• The shoot was described at the time as having the atmosphere of a large party organized to show support for Shakur while he was away.

• The sexual material attracted press scrutiny because the hotel setting and some of the situations appeared to echo the circumstances surrounding Tupac's criminal case. The creative team maintained that the resemblance was coincidental.
