Synopsis

The video opens with Jamiroquai arriving at an elegant party in a convoy of sports cars, continuing the visual world established by "Cosmic Girl." Jay Kay parks his Lamborghini before joining the band inside the building. After a playful elevator sequence, the group reaches a lavish apartment where their instruments are waiting. They launch into a full performance as party guests dance around them. The closing moments expand the celebration with audience footage, including crowd scenes from Jamiroquai's live performances in Argentina.

Factoids & Trivia

  • "Alright" was released as the third single from Jamiroquai's 1996 album "Travelling Without Moving." The UK single followed on April 28, 1997.
  • The opening works as a direct visual continuation of "Cosmic Girl." Jay Kay is shown driving the same Lamborghini used in that earlier video.
  • Unlike "Virtual Insanity," which is largely built around Jay Kay alone, this clip gives the entire band a prominent performance role.
  • The elevator scenes place Jay Kay and the musicians in an intentionally cramped, theatrical setting before the video opens out into the apartment party.
  • At least two edits of the video circulated, with reported running times of approximately 3:46 and 3:59.
  • The final crowd footage was taken from live material filmed in Argentina, giving the studio performance a concert-scale ending.

Lyrics

I need your love,
I need your love...
You, give me light
So tonight, take me there
I, feel your sun
Start to glow and I know it
Let me show you that
I want your love
I need your touch
For the rest, of our time together,
Baby, come fly with me, eternally
You and me,
We were meant to be
...
