| Notes | David Byrne about this song: When I Started writing this ( I got help later), I imagined Alice Cooper doing a Randy Newman-type ballad. Both the Joker and Hannibal Lecter were much more fascinating than the good guys. Everybody sort of roots for the bad guys in movies.; Jerry Harrison: I'm glad we persuaded Tony with the cellos shouldn't be the only one. |

A woman moves through an ordinary day of domestic chores, commuting, office work, and small social interactions, but the routine gradually begins to fracture. As the same spaces and actions recur, her composure gives way to mounting agitation, strange gestures, and increasingly erratic behavior. The video turns "Psycho Killer" inward, presenting psychological unraveling rather than literal violence. Saoirse Ronan's performance shifts between restraint, nervous energy, and full-blown disorientation as everyday life becomes an escalating loop of unease.
