Wiki

Synopsis

In a stark, futuristic setting, a newly created female android is activated and subjected to a series of tests. A man treats her as both a companion and an experiment, carrying out increasingly cruel acts in an attempt to provoke some sign of emotion or independent response. The android remains eerily passive as the relationship shifts between intimacy, control, and objectification. By the end, she is prepared for shipment, leaving the video with a cold, unsettling take on artificial intelligence and human desire.

Factoids & Trivia

  • The video was conceived as a narrative short rather than a conventional performance clip. Its central idea is the familiar science-fiction question of whether androids can develop feelings.
  • Charlotte Stokely, Mychael Burns, and Kimberly Kane appear in the cast.
  • Kevin Kerslake produced the video.
  • "Technology" was the title track from Destructo's 2012 debut EP, released through BNR TRAX, the Boysnoize Records sublabel.
  • The video's visual campaign was closely connected to the EP artwork. Agata Alexander, who developed the film's concept, also supplied the photography used for the cover art.
  • The video helped establish an unusually cinematic presentation for Destructo's early releases, matching the producer's aggressive electronic sound with a dark android story instead of relying on club footage.
