Synopsis

The Zutons wake up after a big night out and immediately discover that the morning-after misery is worse than expected. Their hangover makes every part of performing feel unbearable: drumming sounds awful, the saxophone is impossible to face, and even Dave McCabe's own singing seems to trigger a headache. As the band struggles through the day, surreal images take over, including talking sandwiches and music that appears to travel through walls and across a picnic. The video turns the song's comic hangover narrative into a playful piece of visual absurdity.

Factoids & Trivia

  • The song is built around the aftermath of a wild night out, and the video closely follows that idea rather than presenting a conventional performance narrative.
  • The surreal food imagery gives the song's sandwich scene a visual counterpart, with the band confronted by animated-looking, talking food and other impossible events.
  • The video was issued alongside the song's 2006 single release on Deltasonic. The CD version included the video as one of its tracks.
  • "It's The Little Things We Do" was the fourth and final single from the Zutons' second album, "Tired Of Hanging Around."
  • The single reached No. 47 on the UK Singles Chart, ending the band's run of consecutive Top 40 singles at that point.
  • The official video remains notable among the Zutons' clips for its deliberately odd comic tone, matching the band's eccentric blend of indie rock, saxophone-led arrangements, and darkly playful lyrics.
