Synopsis

Set on a remote New Zealand beach, the video follows a boy and girl whose childhood friendship gradually becomes a lifelong romance. Their relationship is shown across several stages, from carefree games as children to young love and finally old age, when they return to the same shoreline together. Shania Twain performs among the beach scenes, reinforcing the song's promise of enduring devotion. The recurring location gives the story a memory-like quality, suggesting that love can remain constant even as people and circumstances change.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was filmed at Bethells Beach near Auckland, New Zealand, in March 2003. It premiered on CMT on April 26, 2003.

• Several versions were prepared for release. The red and green edits were issued in North America, while a blue version circulated internationally. Red and green "all performance" versions feature only Twain at the beach.

• Twain later recalled that the shoot took place in a very remote area with no convenient access to wardrobe. Some of her clothing was made from hotel throw blankets, which were reshaped and sewn into garments.

• The video won Female Video of the Year at the 2004 CMT Flameworthy Video Awards.

• It was also nominated for Video of the Year at the 2003 Canadian Country Music Awards, where another Twain video, "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!", took the award.

• Twain has described the song as one of her favorites, partly because its idea of people falling in love young and remaining together into old age could be translated so directly into the video.
