Synopsis
Craig David plays a flamboyant music-factory host in this playful take on *Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory*. Four contest winners from New York, Paris, London, and Toronto discover golden CDs hidden inside copies of *Slicker Than Your Average* and earn a tour of his fantastical factory. As the visit unfolds, each guest is tested by temptation, while Craig guides them through rooms filled with surreal machinery, money, cameras, and sweets. Only one winner reaches the final glass-elevator escape.
Factoids & Trivia
- The video was filmed in Prague in September 2002 and premiered in Europe in early October that year.
- Its central concept is a modernized version of the 1971 film *Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory*, replacing Wonka's candy business with Craig David's "music factory."
- The golden prize is not hidden inside a chocolate bar, but inside copies of David's second album, *Slicker Than Your Average*, tying the video directly to the album campaign.
- The four winners are associated with New York, Paris, London, and Toronto, giving the fantasy story an intentionally international feel.
- The video turns the song's ice-cream and dessert imagery into a large-scale visual world, while presenting David as a playful host rather than a conventional performance-only pop star.
- The song became the lead single from *Slicker Than Your Average*, reached No. 8 in the UK, and later appeared on the soundtrack to the 2003 film *What a Girl Wants*.
- In 2003, the track was also used in television advertising for Mattel's short-lived Flavas fashion-doll line.
