Synopsis

Weezer perform "Hash Pipe" inside a brightly lit sumo wrestling arena, surrounded by the sport's distinctive ceremonial and visual imagery. The band plays from within the ring as sumo wrestlers prepare for and compete in a bout behind them. The video's deliberately theatrical contrast between the compact rock performance and the imposing wrestlers gives the song a strange, comic energy. Near the end, the wrestlers briefly join the performance, turning the arena into an unconventional stage.
