Synopsis

Set against the stark, desolate landscape around California's Salton Sea, "Saboteur" follows a solitary figure through a world that appears to have been abandoned after catastrophe. The barren locations, ruined structures and threatening atmosphere create the impression of a survivor moving through the aftermath of a larger conflict. Rather than showing the band performing, the video unfolds as a compact post-apocalyptic story, using its isolated setting and tense imagery to mirror the urgency and unease of the song.

Factoids & Trivia

• "Saboteur" is the third entry in The Epilogues' connected series of post-apocalyptic music videos, following "Hunting Season" and "The Fallout."

• The band members do not appear in the narrative. Drummer Jason Hoke said the decision allowed the imagery to reflect the band's music without relying on conventional performance footage.

• The production used locations at the Salton Sea and Bombay Beach in California. Bombay Beach's abandoned and weathered appearance became a natural fit for the video's dystopian setting.

• The song appears on The Epilogues' album "Cinematics," released on November 6, 2012. The music video was published online in May 2013.

• Jared Van Doorn appears as the video's lead. The production credits also list Nicholas Wiesnet as director of photography, Dillon Novak as editor and colorist, and Ashley Jade Adamson as camera assistant.
