Synopsis

Acrylics' "Lil Ivy" is a stylized, performance-centered video built from moody portrait shots and theatrical imagery. The band appears in carefully composed interiors, with dramatic lighting, smoky atmosphere, unusual wardrobe, and a deliberately heightened visual style. Rather than presenting a linear storyline, the clip creates an impressionistic counterpart to the song, moving between individual character studies and group performance moments. Its restrained editing and art-directed settings give the track a slightly surreal, fashion-conscious presentation.

Factoids & Trivia

• "Lil Ivy" was one of five songs on Acrylics' debut EP, "All of the Fire," released through Terrible Records in October 2009.

• The video was released in spring 2010. An online music-video archive listed it on May 4, 2010.

• The project helped launch Carousel Productions - NY. Producer Kerry Taylor said the company began after the Paris-based creative team behind the video approached her about working with Acrylics.

• Carousel's production credits include Vicente Pouso as director of photography, Emilie Orsini and AB/CD/CD as editors, Angela Esteban Librero on wardrobe, and Mathieu Collet as the flame artist.

• The production brought together Carousel Productions and Paranoid US.

• Acrylics was formed in Brooklyn by Jason Klauber and Molly Shea in 2008 before expanding into a five-piece band.

• The EP was produced by Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor at Terrible Studios, a church studio in Brooklyn.
