Synopsis

A solitary woman travels through a stark, futuristic world shaped by isolation, memory, and loss. Surrounded by deserted interiors, strange machinery, and vast cosmic imagery, she appears trapped in a journey that crosses both time and space. As fragments of her past and possible future emerge, the video gradually reveals an emotional struggle to understand what has happened to her and what cannot be changed. Its science-fiction imagery remains deliberately enigmatic, allowing Hammock's expansive instrumental track to carry the story's sense of grief, distance, and resignation.

• "Mute Angels" is taken from Hammock's 2012 double album "Departure Songs," released on October 2, 2012. The track runs for 4 minutes and 57 seconds.

• The video was the winning entry in Hammock's "Departure Films" contest, which invited listeners and filmmakers to create visual interpretations of the band's music.

• Much of the footage originated in a 2010 Emerson College thesis project: a 40-minute science-fiction character piece developed over three years. The material was reworked into the approximately five-minute music video, with a new narrative structure, color correction, and visual effects.

• The production credits list Anna P. McCarthy and Caroline K. Edwards as producers, Charles Swazey as director of photography, Evan Mrva for production design, and Alex Amoling for editing and visual effects.
