Synopsis

"JURGA - So Blue" unfolds like a dark, surreal dream. Jurga emerges from moonlit water before being placed on an operating table, where an impossible procedure reveals a living green tree growing inside her body. The imagery moves between bodily transformation, nature and death, creating a haunting visual counterpart to the song's melancholy mood. Rather than presenting a literal narrative, the video builds an atmosphere of unease and wonder, with exaggerated moonlight and dream logic making the world feel detached from reality.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was inspired by Lars von Trier's 2011 film "Melancholia," whose emotional impact strongly affected Jurga. She described the connection as one of mood rather than a deliberate attempt to imitate the film.

• "Melancholia" was also the song's working title before Jurga decided to call it "So Blue."

• Several of the most striking scenes were filmed in a swamp or marsh setting. Jurga said that lying in the cold water was the most difficult part of the shoot, and that leeches were her main fear.

• The production deliberately embraces impossible imagery. Jurga specifically pointed to the scene in which a body rises from the water and noted that the moonlight was made brighter than it could be in reality.

• The song was arranged by Snorre Bergerud, who was also credited as the music producer. It later appeared on Jurga's "Breaking the Line" album.

• The video received the Best Music Video award at Lithuania's M.A.M.A. music awards in 2013.
