Synopsis

A married man becomes fascinated by a dancing humanoid robot who enters his life as an alluring new companion. Her playful movements and apparent emotional connection gradually draw him away from his wife, creating an uneasy love triangle between human intimacy and artificial attraction. The robot's presence transforms the home into a space of uncertainty, while the man's divided feelings expose the emotional risks of treating technology as a substitute for real relationships. The bittersweet ending leaves the affair suspended between fantasy and loss.

• The video was released in April 2012, shortly before Here We Go Magic's album "A Different Ship," which was produced by Nigel Godrich.

• The concept was described as a gentle near-future parable about people's growing emotional attachment to technology.

• Sean Pecknold first heard the unreleased song while driving near Joshua Tree with his brother Robin Pecknold. Around the same time, Here We Go Magic contacted him through Twitter to ask about making a video.

• The robot is played by dancer Jane Paik, also known as Janet Pants. Pecknold had previously seen her perform at a rooftop event in Los Angeles.

• The clip was filmed in and around Palm Springs, California.

• Its unusual premise helped the video earn a nomination for Best Indie/Rock Video - Budget at the 2012 UK Music Video Awards.
