Synopsis

Ben Folds performs with his band on the lawn outside a suburban house while an increasingly unhappy couple, played by Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, go through the motions of domestic life. Their strained interaction grows more uncomfortable and surreal as the song develops, with awkward gestures, exaggerated expressions, and sudden visual interruptions. Regina Spektor, whose vocals feature prominently on the recording, never appears in person; instead, a manipulated photograph briefly stands in for her presence. The video closes with additional celebrity cameos, including Josh Groban.

• The video accompanied "You Don't Know Me," the lead single from Ben Folds' 2008 album *Way to Normal*. The recording is a duet with Regina Spektor.
