Synopsis

Brodka appears trapped inside an enormous canvas, with only her head visible as a succession of handmade animated worlds develops around her. The space constantly changes as drawings, objects, textures and figures collide, transform and break apart in rhythm with the song. Rather than following a conventional narrative, the video presents a surreal visual journey through several distinct artistic styles. Its imagery mirrors the song's theme of failed communication, turning confusion, movement and visual overload into a playful stop-motion collage.

Factoids & Trivia

• The video was made using classic stop-motion animation, with the animated space built and altered around Brodka's live-action performance.

• Around 16 artists contributed to the imagery. Their different styles, techniques and visual languages were incorporated into the same evolving composition.

• The production involved several weeks of preparation, four shooting days and approximately 60 hours on set.

• Several of the artworks and physical elements created for the video were destroyed during the animation process.

• The concept was partly inspired by the work of Michel Gondry, especially his use of handmade effects, tactile materials and frame-by-frame transformation.

• The video premiered on March 18, 2011, at Warsaw's Stodola club during the Francophonic Festival.

• "Krzyzowka Dnia" came from Brodka's 2010 album "Granda," the record that marked a major stylistic shift in her career.

• The clip received a 2011 Yach Film nomination in the Best Animated Video category.

• In 2012, it won the Fryderyk award for Music Video of the Year.

• The production was made by glebokiOFF_2011, with post-production support from Studio Orka and Pracownia Wschodnia in Warsaw.
