Michaela Schaffrath (born December 6, 1970, in Eschweiler, West Germany) is a German actress, television personality, voice performer, and former pornographic actress. She first became widely known under the stage name Gina Wild before building a second career in mainstream film, television, theater, and entertainment.
Schaffrath trained as a pediatric nurse after completing secondary school. She worked in hospitals in Stolberg and Frankfurt before entering the adult-film industry in the late 1990s. Working as Gina Wild, she quickly became one of the best-known German performers in the field. Her visibility extended beyond the adult-film market, making her a recognizable media personality in Germany. She received Venus Awards as Best New Starlet in 1999 and Best German Actress in 2000. Schaffrath left the industry around the end of 2000 and subsequently concentrated on developing a career as a mainstream performer.
Her transition was marked by appearances in German television and film productions.
