Who sings the "picture of you" song in the new Mercedes commercial? And for that matter, what is the name of the song? It is simply a commercial for Mercedes, not any one car in particular.

I think those are the lyrics for the song by the Cure. It's the same song used in the HP digital imaging ad.

Does anyone know what song Mercedes used for the ad with all the pictures of the drivers and their cars? It's instrumental.

but doesnt a girl sing the song? maybe we're talking about different things here, but some chick does the vocals. these are the lyrics to the cure song, they dont seem to match:

i've been looking so long at these pictures of you
that i almost believe that they're real
i've been living so long with my pictures of you
that i almost believe that the pictures are
all i can feel

remembering
you standing quiet in the rain
as i ran to your heart to be near
and we kissed as the sky fell in
holding you close
how i always held close in your fear
remembering
you running soft through the night
you were bigger and brighter and wider than snow
and screamed at the make-believe
screamed at the sky
and you finally found all your courage
to let it all go

remembering
you fallen into my arms
crying for the death of your heart
you were stone white
so delicate
lost in the cold
you were always so lost in the dark
remembering
you how you used to be
slow drowned
you were angels
so much more than everything
hold for the last time then slip away quietly
open my eyes
but i never see anything

if only i'd thought of the right words
i could have held on to your heart
if only i'd thought of the right words
i wouldn't be breaking apart
all my pictures of you

looking so long at these pictures of you
but i never hold on to your heart
looking so long for the words to be true
but always just breaking apart
my pictures of you

there was nothing in the world
that i ever wanted more
than to feel you deep in my heart
there was nothing in the world
that i ever wanted more
than to never feel the breaking apart
all my pictures of you

I can't get that song out of my mind either. After a little research on the web, I found out that it was a song called "Amazed" by Detroit-based singer-songwriter Mozella, who has a new album about to come out. See the following page for a little more detail, go down to the "Mercedes Takes to New $30 Million Brand Campaign" section. Hope this helps.

The song is called "somethings last a long time," by a group called Built to Spill. I do not know who covered it for the commercial. the original is sung by a man. The album is called "The Normal Years," and came out about 12 or 13 years ago.

The song is " Amazed" by Mozella. She is signed with Maverick records and her new CD is about to be released. There is another Mercedes ad with faster instrumental music, too.

Marcy
I'm looking for the same song and no, it isn't "Pictures of You" by the Cure. I was so struck by this song and the female vocals, I copied down the lyrics I could hear immediately. It isn't: "I'VE GOT your picture ..." What I heard was:
"Your picture is on my wall, it helps me remember you ..."
I found an article online about this add, but unfortunately, the song title and/or artist is not mentioned.
I want to find this song!!

How could you POSSIBLY confuse a Cure song with the song sung by a WOMAN in the Mercedes commercial?? I don't think Robert Smith (or the Cure for that matter) sound anything like that.

but the reason im here is because i think she SOUNDS so much like Erin McKeown, so i wanted to see. so if you like that song...check her out shes awesome. shes a jazzy folky singer gal.
